The use of measurement of physical quantities resulting directly from deflection, which is the only measurable condition of the structure, directly related to its effort. These quantities are:
Vertical displacement of a point near the center of span of a monitored structural element, measured by WISENE Laser Measuring Devices [LMD]. Vertical measurement is used to ensure precision and insensitivity to any structure movements, excluding the measured vertical displacement!
The angular displacement of the point near the support of the monitored element of the structure, measured with WISENE Inclinometer Measuring Devices [IMD]. An environmentally sensitive gravitational inclination measurement is used.
Fulfilling metrological conditions critical for a given measuring method
The sine qua non condition of any optical / laser measurement, regardless of the position of the optical axis, is its position stabilization or appropriate correction of the measurement results. The WISENE [LUP] laser measuring device uses gravity stabilization of the optical axis position (optimal solution, independent of any movements or displacements of the monitored structure), and the measurement result does not require any correction!
